About

Vintage Film Scores is dedicated to the preservation, archiving and promotion of unreleased Film Scores of Historical significance and interest. When available, the original Cue Sheets and short scores are used. These are digitized and notated into midi software and a realistic sounding midi mock-up is created using the original Film Audio as reference. Where cue sheets are unavailable, the music is laboriously reconstructed by ear. This laborious work is done in the hope of preserving, protecting and promoting unreleased (often lost) Film scores that many of us have become fans of through repeated viewings of the films.

As well as the preservation and creation of realistic MIDI mock ups, another aim of Vintage Film Scores is to help inspire and promote Official recordings of some of these wonderful scores, many of which remain unreleased. This has already  happened with The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) and Dracula (1958) which will be released Halloween 2018.

A lot of time and effort goes into these projects (on average, each Soundtrack takes about 2-300 hours over several weeks to create the MIDI mock ups). If you would like to offer your support and help fund future projects, please make a PayPal donation at the link below.
